Hello, just wanted to clear some misconceptions about Ash's eye color. They are real and turquoise in color.(blue-green and sometimes change blue grey). Colored eyes are not uncommon in India. I have lived most of my life in India and have seen plenty of people with colored eyes.My first cousin brother has light colored eyes. His 2 infant sons have green-grey eyes. Marathis(people of Maharashtra state)have green eyes and grey eyes. I have seen ordinary people on the streets with greenish eyes. Kashmiris(of north India) have very fine features and very light skin with light colored eyes. btw colored eyes are not revered in India, in fact they are considered foreign and also evil-looking so the actors-actresses having colored eyes have always had a tough time in film industry in the past. They were portrayed as villains :) Light skin is considered good as is true in other cultures also. Arabs and Spanish are also group of people who have dark colored eyes as well as Caucasian features also(blonde hair, blue eyes etc.) There are other actors and actresses also with colored eyes e.g. Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan, Karishma Kapoor etc. Ms. Rai did her initial modeling wearing dark colored contacts(to make her eyes look black-brown) because people got distracted by her eyes and did not pay attention to modeling. She has acted recently in few movies(which require serious roles) wearing dark colored contacts to make her eyes look black-brown because her director wanted that so.

hey guys i've seen aishwarya upclose in real in chennai airport on april 22nd 1999. She was in the same flight I was, Indian Airlines, Madras to Bombay. Let me tell u, she had a very blemished olive skin tone, her eyes were light brown. Took me a while to actually recognize her.Wouldn't have even noticed her had she not been standing so close.

I agree with Ajay that Aish does not look vey good in western cloths or other words you can also say that she does not wears a right dress. Hi Saima, I got green eyes too, real one. I am an Indian and in some of my childhood photos my eyes also look brown. So you can't give decision just by looking at Aishwaraya's childhood photos.

FYI, Aishwarya is from Mangalore...and a lot of people there have dark green-hazel color eyes. It's just in their genes. No doubt about it...You guys' comment about her being south Indian and not having light eyes is just ridiculous...and even those who are not north indian like Milind Soman (South Indian) and Rani Mukherjee ( Bengali..east Indian). She isn't that light...but she's lighter than most of the South Asian populations...although i agree that she is Olive skinned, not white. wow. you guys are all crazy. Ok, thanks to all of your stupid comments, i actually had to respond to all of this. It's quite infuriating to hear all of your simpleton narrow-minded garbage. Ok, last time i checked, and i mean the last time i met her, im pretty sure she's not wearing contacts. I admit, i was a bit suspicious at first aswell, however, i did make attempts to check out her eyes for myself. They are most surely realy. She doesnt wear contacts. Though they aren't pure blue, they are a combination blue-green (mostly blue) and thats why people tend to argue that her eyes are either blue or green, etc. They, in fact, change colours due to lighting conditions. As someone previously mentioned, she has had to infact wear dark contacts before, and for those of you that post pictures that are soo horridly pixilated as proof that she does not in fact have coloured eyes, well, thats a tad unprecedented.

Okay. So now that that first misconception has been cleared (at least, for the less narrow-minded individuals out there), its time for another answer to all you misconceptions. As many of you have pointed out, brown coloured eyes are dominant. Well, thats genetics for you. However, as afformentioned, blue, green, and grey eyes are all not uncommon to the people of northern india, where the aryan blood runs more strongly. This is due, as mentioned before, to the aryan invasion theory. The people of the north are aryans, that have adapted to the indian climatic conditons, and thus the brown eyes have gained prominance. The brown eye is more stable for a hot sunny climate such as that of indias. However, there are individuals in the north that do still retain some of the original characteristics. These people are more commonly found in areas like kashmir and punjab. And i speak from experience, as i am a punjabi canadian, and whole branches of my family have green, grey, hazel, and yes, blue eyes.

Secondly, for those of you that are too blinded by the wool to see that it is not impossible for south indians to have blue eyes, heres a bit of information. Although its quite uncommon for blue, or green eyes to be found in the South, there are certain groups of south indians in which a mixture of european blood can be found. Although they may not be aryan, but dravidian, there are still certain groups in which blue and green eyes can develope, as it has been passed down from generation to generation.

Aishwarya is like pretty looking but what lies behind all that make-up? It's probably a bunch of pimples and acne marks! I don't really know!!! There is not even picture of her that I know of that is without make-up. I'm really dark and she has light skin, I wonder if that's even real.
